As a steward, you’re not just keeping our kitchen and dining areas sparkling clean – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest. Here’s what you’ll do during a typical day: Essential function Operate pot-washing machinery and maintain a hygienic working environment in accordance with hygiene regulations and company standards Carry out general cleaning as directed to include sweeping, mopping up, washing up, and emptying of rubbish bins and boxes ensuring placement in the correct containers Ensure that all kitchen and back of house areas are kept clean and all equipment within the kitchen area is cleaned in accordance with the cleaning schedule Be responsible for waste management practices such as recycling, composting, and proper disposal of waste materials Ensure the correct PPE is in place and guidelines are adhered to Observe COSHH guidelines when handling hazardous substances and comply with all aspects of health & safety requirements Report any maintenance and/or hazard issues to the supervisor on duty Carry out any other reasonable task set by the hotel’s management At Hilton, our core values define what it takes to succeed here and guide the qualities we look for in every team member: Proficiency in various cleaning techniques, including proper use of cleaning agents, equipment, and tools, is essential for effective stewarding Have a deep understanding of hygiene standards and sanitation protocols to maintain cleanliness in kitchens, dining areas, and other facilities Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for staff and guests, including handling chemicals safely and preventing accidents Understanding of basic equipment maintenance procedures to ensure that tools and machinery remain in good working condition Join an award-winning workplace culture At Hilton, we don’t just deliver exceptional experiences for our guests—we build an exceptional workplace for the team members who make it all possible.
