What It Takes to Make the Stay At Hilton, our core values define what it takes to succeed here and guide the qualities we look for in every team member: • Must have advanced knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages. • Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes. • Advanced English language writing skills necessary for completion of requisitions, balance sheets and vouchers. • Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items • Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check and order and close out a check • Ability to work stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time. Here's what you'll do during a typical day: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Assists his/her captain or head waiter during the service by staying constantly at his/her disposal. • Contributes constantly to active promotions of in-house sales by optimal knowledge of all services provided by the hotel. Knowledge of the opening hours and promotions of all F&B-outlets is seen as rudiment. • Is acquainted with the suggestions of the day before starting the shift. • Does the cleaning of all trolleys and pedestal tables. • Is responsible for the polish and mis en place of all cutleries. • Is in charge of filling the sugar dispensers, mustard pots, toothpicks and oil & vinegar recipients. • Is in charge of supplying the restaurant with all linen. • Follows the daily cleaning plan. • Respects the closure plan of the restaurant. • Provides an overall high levels of Food and Beverage service to guests and ensures that guest satisfaction are met. • Knows and understands policies relating to Food & Beverage and others. • Recognizes good quality products and presentation. • Checks and improves all service standards established by the company. • Provides assistance to the staff when required during peak periods. • Manages wastes by reducing and recycling, changing staff behaviour to carefully use all resources. • The holder of this statement can be asked to take on other tasks in addition of the ones stated, in a reasonable framework. SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS In addition to performance of essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company. • Attending mandatory meetings • Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards • Keep work area clean and organized • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor such as assisting security with disorderly guests.
